In October 2024, Paris School of Business signed a new partnership with the consulting firm AFD.TECH, a subsidiary of the Accenture Group. Starting next academic year, AFD.TECH will offer Paris School of Business students various work-study positions to support their academic journey and help them acquire key skills for their future professional careers.
We met with AFD.TECH's team, who explained the reasons behind their commitment to this partnership and their expectations for Paris School of Business students.
The Partnership
Can you introduce your company and its sector of activity?
AFD.TECH, part of Accenture, is a consulting specialist in IT and Telecommunications that joined the Accenture Group in 2022. Accenture is the global leader in services for businesses and governments, with cutting-edge expertise in digital, cloud, and security. It is also a community of over 730,000 talents united by a common mission: to deliver on the promise of technology combined with human ingenuity.
In 2024, AFD.TECH, an Accenture subsidiary, brings together over 2,000 talents across three countries (France, Belgium, and Morocco) with an annual turnover exceeding 130 million euros.
What motivated you to establish this partnership with Paris School of Business?
Paris School of Business is a rapidly growing institution, highly recognized both in France and internationally. It offers diverse and high-quality programs, including its renowned Grande École program.
What roles and missions will the recruited students undertake?
Currently, we have no ongoing recruitments as positions have been filled. However, it is very likely that in 2025, we will be looking for profiles in sales, recruitment, or IT through work-study programs.
Professional Experience for Better Employability
In your opinion, why is work-study a springboard for students?
It serves as a springboard because it allows students to gain professional experience quickly, making them more adaptable and mature when seeking full-time employment later. It is a first step into the professional world, enabling them to apply the theoretical knowledge learned at school.
For us, work-study experience is a real advantage when recruiting recent graduates.
What advice would you give to succeed in a work-study program and transition into professional life?
Our advice for a successful start in professional life includes, first and foremost, listening to and learning from your mentor. Ask to participate in varied projects to gain more responsibilities (be proactive) and adopt a professional demeanor (be punctual, maintain professional attire, embody the corporate culture, and participate in company events).
An essential point not to overlook is building professional relationships, which may later open doors to new opportunities.
